Question 1

How does DakBox Shop work?

Accepted Answer

You send a product link from a Japanese marketplace, DakBox quotes the full cost, and once you confirm and pay in BDT we buy the item in Japan and arrange delivery to Bangladesh. You never need a Japanese card or address — we handle the yen-side purchase for you.

Question 2

Which marketplaces can I order from?

Accepted Answer

Amazon Japan, Rakuten, Mercari, and Yahoo Auctions are the main supported marketplaces. Between them they cover new retail, multi-merchant listings, secondhand items, and auctions.

Question 3

Can I order from a Japanese site that is not listed?

Accepted Answer

Often yes — if a Japanese retailer sells the item and we can pay for it locally, we can usually buy it. Send the link when you request a quote and we will confirm whether it is possible.

Question 4

How is the price calculated?

Accepted Answer

Your quote adds the item price, Japan domestic shipping (Yamato rates by size), a carrier fee for the item type, the DakBox service fee, and your chosen Bangladesh delivery cost. Everything is itemized before you pay, with no charges added later.

Question 5

What if the item is out of stock when you try to buy it?

Accepted Answer

If the item sells out or becomes unavailable before purchase, you are not charged for it and we let you know. For fast-moving listings we recommend confirming quickly to avoid missing stock.

Question 6

Can I order multiple items at once?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Ordering several items together is cheaper per item, because they can be consolidated into one shipment and share the Bangladesh delivery cost rather than paying it separately each time.

Question 7

Is there a minimum order?

Accepted Answer

There is no strict minimum, but very low-value items can be inefficient once fees and delivery are added. The order maximum is ¥200,000 of item value per booking.

Question 8

How do I track my shop order?

Accepted Answer

Each order has a status you can follow from purchase through to Bangladesh delivery, and you are notified at key stages. Real-time tracking is available for the shipment leg once a traveler is carrying it.

Question 9

Can I cancel after submitting an order?

Accepted Answer

You can cancel before we have purchased the item. Once the item has been bought in Japan it cannot simply be cancelled, since we have already paid the seller, so please confirm carefully before approving the quote.

Question 10

What happens if the seller cancels the sale?

Accepted Answer

If a Japanese seller cancels before we receive the item, you are refunded for the item portion. This is rare with retail stores but slightly more common on individual-seller marketplaces.

Question 11

How does traveler-based shipping work?

Accepted Answer

Verified travelers already flying from Japan to Bangladesh carry your item as part of their luggage. Because they are travelling anyway, the cost of carrying your item is far lower than dedicated international freight.

Question 12

How is a traveler assigned to my item?

Accepted Answer

For trip bookings you choose a traveler from the trip board; for shop orders DakBox matches your item with a suitable verified traveler heading to Bangladesh. Every traveler is identity-verified before they can carry anything.

Question 13

What is the maximum weight or size per item?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the traveler's available capacity, which is shown on each trip, and on the item type. Large or heavy items fall under per-kilogram Box/Package pricing rather than a flat fee.

Question 14

How is Japan domestic shipping calculated?

Accepted Answer

It uses Yamato Transport size-based rates to get the item from the seller to our handling point in Japan. The size band of your item determines the cost, which is shown in your quote.

Question 15

What if no traveler is available for my route?

Accepted Answer

Your order waits until a suitable verified traveler is matched, or you can pick a different trip if you booked directly. We do not hand items to unverified carriers just to move them faster.

Question 16

Can I choose a specific traveler?

Accepted Answer

When booking a trip directly, yes — you book a slot on the specific traveler's trip you select. For shop orders, DakBox assigns the most suitable available verified traveler.

Question 17

What if the trip I booked is cancelled?

Accepted Answer

If a traveler cancels their trip, your booking is released and you can book another trip, or be re-matched. You are not charged a carrier fee for a trip that does not happen.

Question 18

How is the estimated delivery date calculated?

Accepted Answer

Delivery is typically 2-5 days after the traveler departs Japan, plus the time for your chosen Bangladesh delivery method. Each trip card shows an estimated delivery date.

Question 19

What happens to my item during the flight?

Accepted Answer

The traveler carries it as personal belongings within customs allowances. Handover is documented with photos in Japan, and delivery is documented again in Bangladesh.

Question 20

Is there tracking during transit?

Accepted Answer

Yes, real-time status tracking is available for every shipment, and you can chat directly with the carrier through the platform for updates.

Question 21

What items are prohibited?

Accepted Answer

Illegal drugs, weapons, explosives, counterfeit goods, and hazardous materials are strictly prohibited. Prescription medicine requires a copy of the prescription. See the Prohibited Items page for the full list.

Question 22

Do I need to declare my items?

Accepted Answer

Items travel as personal belongings within customs allowances. Honesty about contents and value protects you, and we screen orders against prohibited goods before they ship.

Question 23

Who is responsible if customs holds an item?

Accepted Answer

Customs decisions are made by the authorities, not by DakBox. We keep shipments to genuine personal quantities and screen against prohibited goods, but final clearance is always at customs' discretion.

Question 24

Are there import duties?

Accepted Answer

Bangladesh customs may assess duty depending on the item type and value, and that duty is set by customs, not DakBox. Personal-use items in small quantities often attract little or none; higher-value goods may.

Question 25

Is there a maximum declared value?

Accepted Answer

The platform caps item value at ¥200,000 per booking. Beyond customs, keeping value and quantity in personal-use territory also helps your shipment clear smoothly.

Question 26

Do supplements or medicine need special documents?

Accepted Answer

Prescription medicine requires a copy of the prescription, and supplements should be in modest personal quantities. Some medicinal products may be declared or held by customs at their discretion.

Question 27

Can DakBox guarantee customs clearance?

Accepted Answer

No, and we will not claim otherwise. Customs is the final authority and can hold, tax, or refuse items at its discretion. We minimise risk by keeping to personal quantities and screening prohibited goods.

Question 28

What happens if an item is confiscated by customs?

Accepted Answer

If customs confiscates an item, that decision sits with the authorities and is outside DakBox's control. This is why we screen against prohibited goods up front and advise honesty about contents and value.

Question 29

Are there restricted categories based on weight or value?

Accepted Answer

Large quantities of a single item can be treated as a commercial import, which changes how customs assesses it. Keeping orders to personal quantities avoids that reclassification.

Question 30

How does Bangladesh customs differ from Japan's?

Accepted Answer

Japan-side handling concerns export of personal goods, while the duty and clearance decisions that affect you happen on the Bangladesh side. The receiver is responsible for any Bangladesh duty that applies.

Question 31

Does DakBox take a cut of the carrier fee?

Accepted Answer

No. Travelers keep 100% of the carrier fee for carrying your item — DakBox takes zero commission. There is nothing added on top of the quote you see.

Question 32

When do I pay the carrier?

Accepted Answer

For trip bookings, you pay the carrier directly in cash at handover in Japan — there is no online payment for sending items. The amount is the carrier fee shown when you booked.

Question 33

Is there online payment for sending items?

Accepted Answer

No. Trip bookings are settled in cash directly with the carrier at handover. Online payment applies only to DakBox Shop orders, where we purchase the item for you.

Question 34

How does DakBox Shop payment work?

Accepted Answer

For shop orders you pay DakBox online in BDT (via bKash) once you approve the quote, and then we purchase the item in Japan. This is separate from the cash-at-handover model used for trip bookings.

Question 35

What payment methods are accepted?

Accepted Answer

DakBox Shop orders are paid in BDT via bKash. Trip bookings are paid in cash directly to the carrier at handover in Japan.

Question 36

Is the platform fee refundable?

Accepted Answer

If an item is lost or damaged in delivery, DakBox provides a 100% money-back guarantee with a full refund within 7 business days. A completed, correctly delivered order is not refundable simply on change of mind.

Question 37

What currency are prices shown in?

Accepted Answer

Item and carrier fees are calculated in Japanese yen, and DakBox Shop totals are shown and paid in BDT. Quotes display the breakdown so you can see both sides clearly.

Question 38

Is there a service fee for travelers too?

Accepted Answer

No. Travelers do not pay any fee — DakBox takes zero commission, and the traveler keeps 100% of what the sender pays as the carrier fee.

Question 39

What if I do not have exact cash at handover?

Accepted Answer

Bring the agreed carrier fee in cash as shown at booking. Arranging the exact amount in advance keeps the handover quick and avoids any confusion with the carrier.

Question 40

Are there hidden fees?

Accepted Answer

No. The carrier fee, Japan domestic shipping, service fee, and Bangladesh delivery are all shown up front. The only cost that can sit outside the quote is government customs duty, which customs sets.

Question 41

What are the Bangladesh delivery methods?

Accepted Answer

Four options: Hub Collect at our Azampur office (free), Courier inside Dhaka (৳120), Courier outside Dhaka (৳250), and Direct Hand Delivery (৳500). You choose your method when ordering.

Question 42

What is the cost difference between delivery methods?

Accepted Answer

Hub Collect is free, courier inside Dhaka is ৳120, courier outside Dhaka is ৳250, and direct hand delivery is ৳500. The cost rises with distance and convenience.

Question 43

How do I choose between Hub Collect and courier?

Accepted Answer

Hub Collect is best if you can reach our Azampur office and want to pay nothing for delivery. Courier or direct delivery suits you if you would rather receive the item at your address.

Question 44

Where is the Dhaka office?

Accepted Answer

Our office is at Shop #03, 4th Floor, Rajuk Commercial Complex, Azampur, Uttara, Dhaka 1230. It serves as the Hub Collect point and the dispatch hub for courier deliveries.

Question 45

Can someone else collect on my behalf?

Accepted Answer

Yes, a representative can collect at the hub for you with your order details. We recommend letting us know in advance so collection goes smoothly.

Question 46

What if I am not home for direct delivery?

Accepted Answer

For direct hand delivery, our courier coordinates a time with you. If you miss a delivery, it can be rearranged rather than lost.

Question 47

How is delivery confirmed?

Accepted Answer

Delivery is documented with photo proof, just as handover is photographed in Japan. This gives both you and DakBox a clear record that the item arrived.

Question 48

What if the item arrives damaged?

Accepted Answer

DakBox offers a 100% money-back guarantee. If your item is lost or damaged in delivery, you receive a full refund within 7 business days after our team reviews the case.

Question 49

How long does the money-back guarantee process take?

Accepted Answer

A confirmed lost or damaged item is refunded in full within 7 business days. Our dispute resolution team handles each case using the photo records from handover and delivery.

Question 50

Can delivery be rescheduled?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Courier and direct delivery times can be rearranged if the original timing does not work, and Hub Collect can be done whenever suits you within office availability.

Question 51

Can resellers use DakBox for bulk orders?

Accepted Answer

DakBox is built around personal-use quantities, with a ¥200,000 item-value cap per booking. Resellers can place multiple bookings, but genuinely commercial volumes should be treated as formal imports with the appropriate customs duty and documentation.

Question 52

Is there a dedicated business account type?

Accepted Answer

There is no separate business tier today; businesses use the same platform as individuals. The practical limit per booking is the ¥200,000 item-value cap.

Question 53

What is the maximum value per booking?

Accepted Answer

The maximum item value is ¥200,000 per booking. Larger purchases must be split across separate bookings, each within that cap.

Question 54

How do importers handle multiple shipments?

Accepted Answer

Importers place several bookings and can consolidate items where a single traveler has capacity. Spreading orders across trips is normal for higher volumes given the per-booking cap.

Question 55

Is there bulk or volume pricing?

Accepted Answer

Pricing follows the standard carrier-fee and service-fee structure regardless of volume. The main saving on multiple items is consolidating them to share Bangladesh delivery cost.

Question 56

Can a business get a receipt or invoice?

Accepted Answer

Shop orders generate an order record with the full cost breakdown that serves as your receipt. Keep these along with purchase documentation for your own customs and accounting needs.

Question 57

How does DakBox handle recurring orders?

Accepted Answer

Each order is placed individually; there is no automated recurring-order feature yet. Frequent buyers simply submit new links as needed and reuse their saved delivery preferences.

Question 58

Is there a volume discount?

Accepted Answer

There is no formal volume discount. The realistic cost efficiency for larger buyers comes from consolidating items into shared shipments rather than a discounted fee.

Question 59

Can students and expats use DakBox for personal imports?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely — students, expats, and individuals are core users. The same personal-use model, fees, and delivery options apply whether you order once or regularly.

Question 60

What documentation is provided for customs on business imports?

Accepted Answer

You receive the order record and cost breakdown, and you should retain the seller's purchase documentation. Customs duty and any commercial-import paperwork remain the importer's responsibility, as customs is the final authority.

Question 61

Does Amazon Japan ship to Bangladesh directly?

Accepted Answer

Only a limited range of items ship internationally, usually at high cost, and most desirable products have it disabled. Ordering through DakBox avoids both the cost and the restriction.

Question 62

Can I use my own Amazon Japan account?

Accepted Answer

You do not need one — you simply share the product link and DakBox buys the item using a Japanese account and local payment. No Japanese card or address is required from you.

Question 63

What about Amazon Japan returns and warranty?

Accepted Answer

Manufacturer warranties on Japan-market goods are generally valid only within Japan, and returns after the item has shipped abroad are usually impractical. Confirm the exact model and box contents before you order.

Question 64

Are Amazon Japan Prime benefits usable?

Accepted Answer

Prime perks apply to fast domestic delivery within Japan, which helps the item reach our handling point quickly, but they do not extend to the Bangladesh leg. Your delivery time depends on the traveler and your chosen BD method.
